If a horror doesn't scare you, you may still like other aspects of it; whereas if you don't laugh at a joke, the joke is dead. But also permissive in a political sense: if you're offended by a horror, well, that's just the sort of subjects it dives into. Whereas if you're offended by a comedy, that's a micro aggression (left) or sedition (right).
